Data improves your decision-making in nearly all circumstances. And we want to provide you with as much relevant public/free data as we can. For tech employees with stock-based-compensation, there are two primary vectors where data is highly relevant:
(1) How pre- and post-IPO companies have historically performed. This data can/should help you better understand the risk and reward of your stock-based-comp, aiding in many of the key decisions and analyses you may conduct:
VC-Backed Company Exit Rates. Understanding exit-rate likelihood is key to making an investment decision regarding your stock comp.
Average Tech Company Post-IPO Returns. The majority of technology companies decline In value after going public.
Single Company Stock Performance in the S&P500. Picking individual stocks is challenging; most underperform.
